Correction: klipMedical Electronic Medical Record System Received 2011 Drummond Certification
klipMedical EMR version 2.1 achieves ONC-ATCB Modular Ambulatory Certification

Woodland Hills, CA – August 5, 2011 – klipMedical, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cortiss LLC an industry leader in Electronic Medical Records (EMR,) has received the Federal government’s “meaningful use” stamp of approval by earning Ambulatory Modular certification . The designation officially deems the electronic health record (EHR) software capable of enabling providers to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) program, the EHR software is 2011/2012 compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

“If you’re considering a new EMR solution, there’s no time like the present” said Michael Nourani, Founder of klipMedical. “A recent article stated that the dependence on monolithic EHR products; with well defined features that are presumably comprehensive, has kept health care IT expensive, difficult to implement, use and maintain. Doctors are looking for a solution that will provide a path to the stimulus cash. klipMedical EMR provides a cutting edge technology to address these antiquated concepts and at the same time deliver the incentives of being a “Meaningful Use” provider”.

Drummond Group’s ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology -- a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.

As part of the federal government’s HITECH mandate, eligible providers can qualify for up to $44,000 in Medicare incentives if they demonstrate Meaningful Use of a certified EHR system. In a practice with three eligible providers, the incentive would total $132,000 over five years.

“Developing the next generation of truly innovative and contemporary IT infrastructures has been an invigorating experience,” said Michael Nourani. “klipMedical is leading the technological wave of adaptability, ease of use and flexible architectures”.

This EHR Module is 2011/2012 compliant and has been certified by Drummond Group, an ONC-ATCB approved agency to certify any complete or modular EHR both ambulatory and inpatient, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. klipMedical EMR, was certified on April 28, 2011 , Version 2.1, Certification ID number is 04282011-5032-1, Clinical Quality Measures Certified 170.302 C-H, J,M, O-V and 170.304 A, C, D, G. No clinical quality measures tested. There was no additional software used.

Replacing Paper Medical Records with Digital Ease
A New EMR system that Combines Paper Simplicity with Electronic Efficiency

LOS ANGELES, CA, July 7, 2010 — klipMedical.com was launched in June amidst a shifting regulatory climate in health care information technology that will eventually force all physicians and clinics to adopt Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. klipMedical’s goal is to enable the smoothest possible transition with an electronic system that mimics paper in both appearance and simplicity. klipMedical provides full clinical information control, with records storage, document management, scheduling, statistical compilations and reports. The HIPAA compliant “cloud computing” (Internet based) system securely stores information online, meaning clinical data and records can be accessed from anywhere in the world. The system is flexible and configurable, and can be tailored to any physician, practice or specialty.

In 2009, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) began outlining their intention to transfer the entire country from paper to electronic medical records. A section of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA, or the “Stimulus Bill”) launched an initiative that offers up to $44,000 per physician, and up to $2 million for hospitals, to switch to electronic records systems. In 2015, storing medical records electronically will become mandatory, with non-compliance resulting in financial penalties. This program is driven by the fact that EMRs can make clinics more efficient, catch human errors, easily monitor health information and eventually raise health care standards nationwide. Despite this, EMR adoption in the U.S. has been slow and incongruent. Studies show1 there are two primary causes for this: inadequate and inflexible EMR systems, and high installation and maintenance costs.

klipMedical was created to combat the two largest problems with currently available EMR systems—difficulty of use and high costs. Records created with klipMedical are designed to imitate paper, and can include patient history, insurance information, doctor’s notes, audio files, pictures, videos and scanned files. klipMedical features a configurable “Dashboard,” a home screen that allows each user or clinic to display a variety of information (schedules, upcoming patients, patient statistics, message inbox, clinical finances) that can be modified and helps to streamline information. The system can be tailored to any practice, physician or specialty. This includes previously overlooked small, one-to-three physicians clinics, and “Floating Physicians,” doctors who work at more than one location.

klipMedical is an “interoperable system,” meaning that it can be used in conjunction with other medical records systems, billing programs and government exchanges. This makes klipMedical unique, and allows for medical device-to-system, clinic-to-clinic, and clinic-to-regional center linking. With the new governmental shift toward sharing health statistics, the ease with which klipMedical can compile this data will be vital, if not mandatory.

klipMedical was founded by Michael Nourani in 2008, and is based in Santa Monica, CA. Mr. Nourani began developing klipMedical after helping doctors with filing cabinets full of paper records switch to electronic systems, and others whose electronic systems had become obsolete, nearly destroying years of records. klipMedical has already begun developing klipLegal, a scheduling and document management system for lawyers, and klipMedical, a similar management system for businesses.
